Atala offers a wide range of curricular activities at no additional charge. Where many public and private schools are cutting subjects like art, music, and physical education, we know that by having these classes in our school curricula and not just relegated to an after-school program, our children build on the skills they learn in these courses to improve their work in math, science, and reading.
Mr. Fernando Vallejo and Mrs. Luise Johnson-Dailey are our Atala art teachers. They cover topics such as the color spectrum, painting, sketching, cartoons, sculpture, and recycled art.
Srta. Sheila Agosto serves as our Spanish teacher and works with elementary and middle school students bi-weekly. She presents cultural topics, conversational Spanish, and with our older children Spanish reading, writing, and grammar.
Mr. Manuel Paneque LaHenz is our wonderful toddler, preschool, and elementary music teacher. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) Havana, Cuba and a master’s degree in education from Oscar Lucero Moya University, Holguin, Cuba, in addition to many workshops around the world.
